what happened?

Right, so all of you are wondering what I'm always blabbing about on the index page in the first paragraph? Well have I got the solution for you both! Here, I will keep a little archive of what I've written in exactly that paragraph. For your reading pleasure, I will try to put everyhthing on here one month at a time. The oldest post of the month will be at the top. When you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back a few days and everything should become clear. Whenever I think it's worth it, I'll add a link to the more interesting things I mention. Try to expect not too many links.

7 - Wednesday - 00:36 Hello there! The holidays have ended, and it shows. Work
is starting to pile up faster than I'd like. But hey! At
least that'll keep me off the streets. I trust everyone
has had a good christmas and a fine new year, just as
me when I found out I passed the Japanese history test!
Keep checking this space for more updates from now on,
I know that it has been too quiet here the last week.
Keywords for now are university, work, K1, website,
and something special! Teaser: 'The Coozer Gast'

8 - Thursday - 00:15 It's quite possible that I will be working for JAL.
Today I got a call from someone, err, from Wouter,
my Coozer companion, who asked if I was interested
in working for JAL, and I certainly was. I also helped
Domi today, because he's in the middle of moving to
his new house. After that of course, we got together
and had a couple of beers in Einstein, which was
eerily quiet, considering it was a wednesday evening.
It was really empty there. But hey, there was beer.

9 - Friday - 00:21 It's the 9th already. In 5 days, I will have a test
about religion and anthropology, and I still have
so much work to do. Today hasn't been too unproductive
though. For the most part, Ad and I were at home,
nerding away behind our computers, but I also
got some studying in. Tomorrow, there's a plan
to drink beer in the early morning with Wouter,
because he has a test that ends at 10. We'll
also be working on Coozer, with a bit of luck.
|
10 - Saturday - 01:20 Today, Wouter and I got together for a session
of Coozer. We bought quite a lot of beer too, and
by the end of the afternoon all of it was gone,
and we were laughing at things you normally
wouldn't laugh about. Anyway, we got quite some
work done with Coozer, about 4 and a half minutes
no less! After that, Marije, Wouter, Ad and I
got together at the 'Grote Beer' and Augustinus
to have more beer and dinner. It was good.

11 - Sunday - 01:21 For study, today was a bad day. Ad, Nathalie and
I would go to Rotterdam to buy computer parts,
but my eyes disagreed and I had to stay at home.
I'm going to have them checked out soon. Then in
the afternoon, Tim and I were talking and we
decided that today was just not meant for study,
so we agreed to indeed not study. Mass punishment
for our books. Like they care. Anyway, I got a
new harddrive for my computer, which Eelco installed.

13 - Tuesday - 03:57 Today I got home from work, and unexpectedly
I played Final Fantasy X for the longest of times.
Unexpectedly, because I was actually hoping to
get some more reading in. But after the PS2 was
turned on, it just wouldn't let me get behind
the books again. And now it's 4 in the morning.
I need to find my battery charger. That way, I
can charge my batteries again and take more pictures.
I'll see about that tomorrow though.

14 - Wednesday - 02:33 You should have been here tonight. Jet was in
Leiden for her very last test at Leiden University.
Ad, Wouter and Marije were also there to celebrate
this, and we had a great evening. We were at the
'Kroeg', always a good place to have fun, bar the
music perhaps, but we didn't mind too much. I
lost royally at pool against Jet and Marije though.
Oh, be sure to check out Japanese jazz violinist
Maiko's new website. Click right here to go there.

15 - Thursday - 06:27 Hi, it's me. It's early, but I'm not awake already.
I'm still awake. Yeah, that's it. Tonight, I had to
work, which, by the way, went really well, but after
that, I met up with Ad and Robert who were at
van der Werff, and we had beer. Ad left early,
but Robert and I kept going at it until the
early hours. I really need to get some sleep now.
I wonder when you get to read this, but for me,
it's been quite the long day! But it was good.

15 - Thursday - 16:01 With a beauty of a hangover, what else can one do
than stay inside and take it easy? Well, I'm doing
just that, and it works for me. Ad and I have
been outside though, having lunch, and I bought
a neon lamp. Why? Well, today I did my first
PC case mod! This is my PC before picture, and
after a quick installation, the end result was
pretty whopping. The amount of light I get from
the Aurora is pretty amazing, and it looks really good.
|
17 - Saturday - 07:08 Tim and I got together today and played a couple
of games, including Star Fox Adventures for the
Nintendo Gamecube and Final Fantasy X in two
versions for Sony Playstation. After that, Ruud
called me to go have a drink somewhere. Of course
I couldn't deny, and man am I glad I went! We were
at Einstein and Odessa, and the evening couldn't have
been much better. With the concept of 'feeling' rediscovered,
I feel a little bit bad for Ruud, seeing he has to get up really early.

18 - Sunday - 23:44 Last night, I was at Justus' place. Not only him
and me, but also Marije, Jet, Wouter,
Rogier, Haiko and Lan Lan joined the fun. Justus cooked
dinner for us, and then we chilled for the rest of
the night. We were listening to Coozer, and some of
us were smoking these HUGE joints, as you can see. :)
Anyway, I spent the night at Wouter's place, and today
we chilled some more. As of tomorrow, I'm starting work
for a week in a hospital. Fun, but very early.
|
19 - Monday - 23:36 Bizzare fact of the day: I come home, and there's
a lady bug on my keyboard. In the middle of the
winter. Well anyway. Other than that, it was raining
today. All day long. It just wouldn't stop pouring.
Normally I'm fine with that, but today I had to
be outside quite a bit for work, So I got all wet
and stuff. Working at the hospital proved to be a fun
experience. The only thing is that I have to wake
up before 6am to be there on time. Ugh.

21 - Wednesday - 00:14 How cool is it to sit down with a smiling Remy
Bonjaski, winner of the K-1 world championship
2003, in a Japanese restaurant in Amsterdam? Not
only that, his lovely wife was there also, and
combined with the fact that I got to teach them
Japanese, I can safely say that it was very, very
cool indeed. I need more sleep though, today at
work I had quite the opposite experience to cool.
Bye then, sleep tight. Remy san, oyasumi!
|
25 - Monday - 01:23 It's been a while, hasn't it? Almost a week
actually. The reason for that is that I wasn't
sleeping, and living on coffee. The week has paid
off though. After the hospital work was over, Mathilde,
Wouter, Niels and I went for a drink in Amsterdam,
with our pocets full of the green stuff. A heap of
cash. The plan was to gamble it all away, but
the terrible restaurant and the all-over weariness
made us change our minds, and go home.

27 - Tuesday - 02:45 Well what a fine evening it turned out to be!
I went to eat in a Japanese restaurant with my
students of Japanese in Amsterdam. The owner, mister
Nakae, prepared some top-class food for us, and his
nice waitress Noriko brought plate after plate of
delicious Japanese things to us. True, the bill
was kind of hefty, but who cares anyway, when an
evening is so enjoyable. Thanks everyone, I'll
see you all again very soon indeed!
|
28 - Wednesday - 00:39 Today was certainly good. Kind of slow in the
beginning actually. But in the evening, it was
time to meet up with Remy Bonjasky again, together
with his lovely wife and newborn son, for our weekly
Japanese lesson. The restaurant was nice as always,
and I forced Remy to take a picture with me. Then,
he beat me to a pile of dust. Just kidding though.
He and his wife were really friendly by taking me to my
station by car. There was ice on my bike's saddle.

29 - Thursday - 04:49 It's not a good thing that I have to wake up early
this morning. What makes it even worse is that it's
almost 5 in the morning. Ah well. Today, just before
work, I met up with ever-sweet Miho for a drink
in Amstelveen. We sure had a nice time, even though
it was kind of short. But at least I got to talk
to her for a bit, which was good. Confirmations
that people are going to come to my big 14 february
party, are seeping in little by little. A good thing!
|
31 - Saturday - 01:35 A long day it certainly was, but very enjoyable
nonetheless. In the morning I met up with Anika.
We had beer and coffee, just a fine combo in the
morning. She was on crutches, having broken her foot
not too long ago. After that, Dennis and Tim were
in Leiden. That can never be good, and indeed, the
majority of the day was spent nerding away. We had
dinner at a Greek restaurant. Lots of meat. Hmmmm.
What a great feeling that I can sleep all I want tonight...
