what happened?

Right, so all of you are wondering what I'm always blabbing about on the index page in the first paragraph? Well have I got the solution for you both! Here, I will keep a little archive of what I've written in exactly that paragraph. For your reading pleasure, I will try to put everyhthing on here one month at a time. The oldest post of the month will be at the top. When you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back a few days and everything should become clear. Whenever I think it's worth it, I'll add a link to the more interesting things I mention. Try to expect not too many links.

2 - Monday - 01:24 Last night, just as I was thinking that the
day would end with no action whatsoever, I started
talking to Jasper on messenger, and we decided to
go for a drink in Haarlem. We went to cafe Brinkmann,
Studio, Murphy's Law, Tapuit and Murphy's Law again,
consuming lots of the good stuff everywhere we went.
Maybe a bit too much of the good stuff (tm), seeing
we both had quite a hangover. Today we chilled, meeting
some wonderful Japanese kids at Leiden Central Station.

3 - Tuesday - 01:06 Warning: This post is not suitable for children.
No, that's not true. It's not suitable for stupid
parents who think their children are blind, deaf and
mute, or should be. I guess you've heard by now, but
during the Super Bowl in the US of A, Janet Jackson
was kind of exposed by Justin Timberlake. And just
to save you the trouble of looking it up on the net,
I provide you the pictures here. Today was nice:
Games played - 4. Words written for my 6 february paper - 0.

4 - Wednesday - 01:22 My housemate Ralph is moving. That means his room
will become available, and I've decided to move there.
Good for me, because I'll have access to a balcony,
and the room is slightly bigger. Today eleven people
showed up who were searching for a room in Leiden.
Ultimately, it was Chantal who won over our hearts,
so she will soon be our new housemate. Ralph will be
sorely missed, but at least Chantal is a lot cuter
than Ralph. Because frankly, he be uuugleeh. Word.

8 - Sunday - 02:39 I guess it's been a while since the last update.
Still, there's been a lot going on lately. Today was
the fourth day in a row that I've been drinking in
the evening. Usually, this would be a sign of becoming
an alcoholic, but I've got an excuse. Which, of course,
is even more a sign of be(com)ing an alcoholic. In
any case, I see my alcohol consumption as a practice
run for next saturday, when my big party'll be going
down. You're invited. Drop me a mail when you want to join!

9 - Monday - 19:51 Ad had an idea today. This particular idea was to call
for ribs. You see, there's this sparerib-delivery
service in Leiden, and Ad told me it was pretty damn
good, so we ordered some ribs. And man was that good!
It's hell to eat those things of course, and you
need to take a shower afterwards, but we're both quite
full. And there're leftovers! That'll be good for
tomorrow. The weather was so messed up today that it
was nearly impossible to go outside. Cuffs.
|
11 - Wednesday - 01:59 Tonight, it was time to go to 'The Last Waterhole'.
Ad, Wouter, Marije, Daan, Roos and me gathered there,
to have a couple of drinks, and to listen Daan play
on his guitar. The first set he played was swinging,
but the singer kept cutting everyone off. The second
set was kind of crappy, but that wasn't Daan's fault.
Anyhow, we had a good time, that's for sure, and on
the way back to Leiden, we enjoyed some 'egg cakes',
followed by burgers from the so-called Burger King.

12 - Thursday - 17:32 "Hey Ad, why was it still morning when we started
playing? And why is it evening now?" Ad downloaded
the demo for Unreal Tournament 2004, we started
playing, and before we knew it, time had progressed
a good number of hours. That's a good game though.
We were playing this map where you have to secure
power nodes. Sounds boring, but it proved to be a
pretty intense experience. We hadn't eaten anything
all day, so after playing, we both died from famine.

14 - Saturday - 22:58 Valentine? Pshah! No. P! That's the word, or letter,
for today. As I'm writing this, I'm abandoning my
own party, which is going on full-force downstairs.
Why don't you drop in? There's beer, music, people,
just about all the things that make a party work!
We're having a lot of fun, and everyone's slowly
getting under the influence of alcohol. It's not
that bad yet, seeing it's still quite early. Now,
I'll head downstairs. Too bad for you you ain't here.

17 - Tuesday - 03:00 The weather today was dreary at best. I had to run
some errands, but apart from that, it was quiet. The
day(s)-after feeling of my party had worn off, and
Tim, Ad and me were mesmerizing a bit about that.
With nothing better to do, Tim and I fired up the
ol' gaming consoles, and had ribs for dinner. After
we had exploded, we took it quite easy, going from
a high-tech PS2 to a more relaxed and old-school
SNES. He has JBP in the morning. I don't.

18 - Wednesday - 00:46 Today probably changed my life quite a bit. But I
don't know for sure yet. What am I talking about?
This. This is probably the end of my (social) life
as I've known it up until now. Maybe after this, it's
all going to be different. Maybe I'll never leave
my room again, ever. Maybe I'll lose the ability to
communicate with people who are in the same room as I am.
Why all the maybes you ask? Well, the damn thing is
still updating, that's why. 4 (FOUR) hours? Sheesh!

19 - Thursday - 00:59 So, right, my character Brodaeus has sworn allegiance
to Bastok, and I'm now fighting monsters to attain a
higher level, while clearing up missions and quests.
I've completed the first mission, and now I have choose
another one, but I still have a couple of quests which
haven't ended yet. But I've been in a couple of parties,
communicating with people from Japan and Singapore, but
that's of course all fake because we're in Vana'Diel.
Huh? What was that? Ah, I see, you don't care? Oh.
|
19 - Thursday - 18:34 Today, I was in Vana'diel again, fighting some monsters,
gaining a level, and I even sold a lot of stuff at the
auction house. For the money, I bought a cool scythe,
and I tested it out on some more fiends. Anyway, FFXI
is indeed taking up more of my time than it should. The
great thing about the game is, that when it starts, it
tells you that they appreciate you for playing the game,
but that you shouldn't forget your real life and work
either. I wonder what they're talking about...

20 - Friday - 03:16 Before I head for London tomorrow, I'll bother you one
more time with my adventures in Vana'diel, the world of
Final Fantasy XI. I teamed up with someone and we set
out to defeat some monsters and get cool stuff. Before
long though, our party expanded to 5 people. We had a
white mage in there too, who could heal the so-called
'tanks', people who take it upon them to receive damage.
Anyhow, it was fun, and I bought new armor. Look at
these before and after shots. But I guess you really don't care.
|
24 - Tuesday - 01:50 I'm back from London. As I had the best seat in the plane,
I was out first, and from there it took me 4 minutes to
reach a train to Leiden. Not bad then. When I got home,
I didn't really have time to relax, seeing it's time to
move. My old room is currently in a state of total chaos,
as the new room is very slowly taking form. I'm hoping
to get all my stuff to the new room today, the 24th.
If anyone is interested in helping, and getting something
in return, anyone's welcome. More London pics soon enough.

25 - Wednesday - 01:47 "Then you can place poop on the destination. That's pretty good!"
Thus were the words of Ad when we were playing
a good game of Momotaro Dentetsu tonight in my
new room. Oustide it was snowing, and inside we were
having beer and fun. We also had two special guest stars.
Special, because Wouter and Marije are not your typical
gamers. As a matter of fact, they don't play games. Ever.
It was quite a feet then, when we played Momotetsu for
hours and hours. And hours. It was fun, it'll be again.
|
26 - Thursday - 04:53 It was snowing again today. Good thing then that I was
mostly inside, moving. My old room is no more. In my
new room, I should have been cleaning, but before I knew
it, I was in Vana'diel again. After adventuring on my
own for a bit, I was joined by a White Mage. She could
cure me and cast spells like protect on me while I was
fighting evil things and attracting their attention.
In the mines, we gained experience. So much indeed, that
I gained 2 levels, making me a lv. 8 Warrior. Like you care.

27 - Friday - 03:08 So what do you think about the OP? The Osdorp Posse.
For those of you who don't know them, they're a dutch
group who are dedicated to procucing authentic dutch rap
and hip-hop. Well, our good friend Peta seems to think that
they're all that, even more so than the legendary Coozer.
Of course, Wouter and I disagreed, but who wouldn't? Today
it was time for the monthly Tanuki Borrel, and despite the
shortness, for me anyway, it was pretty good. I had to go to
work you see, but after that I had more beer with Wouter and Peta.
|
29 - Sunday - 22:21 I love the 'day after'. You know, tonight you've got a
party to go to, and tomorrow there'll be the day after.
Last night, I was in Utrecht, by invitation of my good friend
and fellow philosopher, Ruud. I think close to a hundred
people showed up, and we spent the night drinking cheap,
headache and nasty diseases-inducing beer. It was good though.
The live music was commendable, I met interesting people, and
cleaning up the day after was great. It's strange, but I love
that. We had food in Utrecht before we went home, all tired.
