what happened?

Right, so all of you are wondering what I'm always blabbing about on the index page in the first paragraph? Well have I got the solution for you both! Here, I will keep a little archive of what I've written in exactly that paragraph. For your reading pleasure, I will try to put everyhthing on here one month at a time. The oldest post of the month will be at the top. When you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back a few days and everything should become clear. Whenever I think it's worth it, I'll add a link to the more interesting things I mention. Try to expect not too many links.

2 - Tuesday - 02:19 Thinking about the grand success of my Return of the King
one-word review, I've come to the conclusion that it's
time once again for one of these one-word wonders of
reviewing richness. That's one reason, and having seen
a movie tonight only contributed to that feeling. Ben
Stiller and Jennifer Aniston in 'Along Came Polly'.
For a more detailed impression, mail me by all means,
but for those who like a more compact, clear and useful
piece of information, my one-word review should be the better bet.

3 - Wednesday - 01:25 The Last Waterhole, located not too far from Amsterdam's
Central Station, is always a good place to be on a tuesday
evening. Typically, Joep will host a jam-session, and
if you're lucky, you'll catch Dean playing one of his
guitars, pretty much stealing the show. The thief. Me
personally, and musically, I still prefer spending an
evening in the good company of Mr Paul Desmond and his
alto sax. That way things never get too hasty or crude.
Don't take my word for it though. Give both a go. Go on.

5 - Friday - 05:12 So who was no. 103? Who knows? Anyhow, the Tanuki 'Shibuya'
party was a big, big disappointment. I dressed up in style,
as the famous '109' buildingm and I even won the Karaoke
contest, which got me a big bottle of chamagne, but around
2:30 in the morning, they started kicking us out. without
a real reason actually. I guess the people behind the
counter were just asses of a higher order. If it were
for me, I'd have let the party continue for at least an
hour or 3. That way, things will happen, which isn't entirely bad.

7 - Sunday - 00:54 I was in Kerkrade for one day, to attend my school's orchestra
reunion, although not before meeting up with my brother,
his girl and their son, my nephew. The reunion though, was
something else. Seeing all those familiar faces again, meeting
new people, talking with the cutest things on earth (tm), worrying
about the future of other kids, playing in my old
orchestra, with the former and current conductors... And
the beer helped, too. Bravo to the orchestra as it is now.
For a bunch of kids not very much older than 14, they kick ass.

8 - Monday - 01:19 I've mentioned it before, and I'll do it again. We have a
new housemate. Her name is Chantal, and seeing I took a
couple pictures of her last night, it seemed like a good
idea to put those on the web. Don't wait, check out the
updated 'housemates' section of this site. Today has been
a quiet day, like the ones you read about in books. One
reason for that is, that people in the south of my wonderful
country kindly gave me a good portion of the virusses they
were carrying. No they're wreaking havoc inside of me. Cool.

9 - Tuesday - 17:22 Here's a little update about what's been happening in
Vana'diel, the world of Final Fantasy XI, as you all
doubtlessly know. I've been battling a lot in parties,
mostly of 6 people, in places like Konschtat Highlands
and the Valkurm Dunes. I've also talked with many people,
formed groups with new people, and meeting old friends
going back to the first day I ever played FFXI. Travelling
by boat was beautiful, I've fallen for the Taru race, and
generally, walking through Vana'diel was just breathtaking at times.

11 - Thursday - 03:17 This post will be entirely dedicated to Caroline. Now most of you
won't know who she is. Don't panic, don't fret. As a matter of fact,
I don't know either, to be perfectly honest. Today, Marije graduated,
and after a wonderful evening, we ended up in Einstein, home of
chanceless people looking for other chanceless people. We drank,
we talked, we all wondered about that one person, you know how
those things go. Anyhow, when Jasper and I went home, we ran
into Caroline. She made a picture of us, and said it would be on the net.
We countered, and made pictures of her. Now if only I could remember her site...

14 - Sunday - 03:26 Last night I wa... Oh, hey! Yeah, here's an update again.
Sorry if you've been visiting the site, only to find no new
stuff on it. Anyway, as I was saying, last night I was at
Justus' place in Amsterdam, together with the ever-witty
Haiko and the hardly-white (or soon, at least) Wouter. We
sat down with something to drink, and during the course of
the evening, while talking, we listened to some of the most
relaxing stuff you will ever hear this side of K&D, DJ Crush.
But who keeps their toothbrush in a bowl with garlic?

15 - Monday - 02:02 I would tell you all about today's 17th Japanese Speech
Contest. How Peta won, how some people didn't get what
they deserved, how someone managed to totally change my
opinion on a number of things. Although it was a good day,
the greater part of it came when Rachelle, Jasper and I went
to have a drink in Leiden. After chilling a while in the English
Pub, we decided to go watch 'Lost in Translation' at my place.
Writing a one-word review about this masterpiece was not
easy, but since the popularity of the OWRs, here goes anyway.

16 - Tuesday - 02:38 From today on, I have the ability to get high on caffeine. It
has been a long time coming, but I've finally bought a coffee
maker. From Philips, of course. It's a pretty cool device. It's
all black, and the first coffee I made with it was stronger than
Hercules on steroids. I've also bought all the accessories,
such as coffee (well, yeah), filter-bags, coffee-spoon, and an
unusually chrome container. Here's an invitation to you. You're
always welcome to come here and get a cup of coffee, just be
sure to call me on beforehand. I'm a regular Starbucks. Just not as politically correct.

18 - Thursday - 18:20 Oh what an awkward day. Last night was good. Too good,
so today has been a day of slowly waking up. Today has proven
though, to be a perfect day to annoy my housemate Tjitske
beyond belief. Not that it's difficult. I mean, you just basically
talk to her, and there you go. Instant annoyance, voila. What
with all the rain falling out of the sky, it's dreary, and my first
set of clothes has already deteriorated. Laundry is done, work
is still a couple of hours off.. It's slow. On a happier note, I've
put another batch of pictures on my door. It looks really good.

21 - Sunday - 02:24 Couple of things. Ron-chan, he isn't featured too heavily on this
site, came by today, to attach a couple of boards on my wall.
The result is just great. It's quite unbelievable how much stuff
you can store between those boards. The lamp was also attached
by Ron, residential toolman and parttime sheep. Now there be
light in me room. Arr. Chantal and I had a good idea for Ad,
who recently acquired a real job. The idea was putting a truly
big box in front of his door. Tjangelus, my buddy over in Vana'diel,
created his own linkshell, of which I'm now a member. /joy motion.

24 - Wednesday - 02:10 You know, Holland can be such a beautiful country. Today was
one of those days during which it became clear to me once again
that it's a good thing to be here. The weather was good, which
surely helped, seeing people tend to get just that bit more
relaxed when the sun is already doing her utmost to provide
us with, well you know, light. In the afternoon, I had lunch with
Tim and Yurika at the 'Bruine Boon'. I had to work in the evening,
but after that, Jasper, Megumi and Yurika were there to join me
for a drink at the prestigious Okura Hotel in Amsterdam. Great times.

25 - Thursday - 02:03 It sure feels strange when someone tells me the boards that
Ronald attached to the wall in my room look good. That's what
telling just about everything about yourself on the internet
implies though. It seemed like a good idea to put some of the
people who tell me those kind of things on the web. Joost and
Boy are two students of mine, and let me tell you right now that
students just don't come any better than they do. They're really,
really, really cool, smart, funny, etc. Okay guys, that'll be a 100 euros
then. Seriously though, they're really cool. And that'll be another 50 euros.

30 - Tuesday - 01:13 Every once in a while, you have to buy a Game Boy. It had been
years and years for me, so today, I bought a Game Boy Advance.
Of course, there came a game with it, but for me the reason to buy
it was mostly to be able to play this game right here, Final Fantasy
Crystal Chronicles. Connect the GBA to a brand spanking new
Gamecube, and you're all ready to go. While I was on a
shopping spree, I went out of my way, and wallet, to also
buy Metal Gear Solid for Gamecube. It's really, really nice. There's
a lot more to tell though, visit soon for more pictures from last week.

31 - Wednesday - 01:29 You could notice it everywhere in Holland today. Everyone was
excited about the great weather we had. And the good news is
that it'll be even warmer tomorrow. If the weather's this good, you
can't just sit indoors and do nothing, so Keith, Dennis and I went
to the 'Grote Beer', in order to enjoy a nice and cool beer. I had lunch
there too, but I hardly think you care. Tomorrow, my friend Ruud
will wake me up by calling me really early in the morning. The plan
is that we're going to play the piano. Let's hope the good weather,
and the great feeling resulting from it, lasts more than just a couple of days.
