what happened?

Right, so all of you are wondering what I'm always blabbing about on the index page in the first paragraph? Well have I got the solution for you both! Here, I will keep a little archive of what I've written in exactly that paragraph. For your reading pleasure, I will try to put everyhthing on here one month at a time. The oldest post of the month will be at the top. When you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back a few days and everything should become clear. Whenever I think it's worth it, I'll add a link to the more interesting things I mention. Try to expect not too many links.

Portugal won. Bummer. Not that we didn't encourage Holland in our own ways. I was in Friesland for the occasion, and especially the next day proved to be well worth the trip. I got a bit of a sunburn though. Nothing too bad, just a bit red maybe. Going to London has become so normal that I almost forget to put it on the site anymore, but just for the record, I was there again, that good old city. Nice contrast between the new and old.

I really, really like music. I listen to it a lot, and I take it with me on the road. The discman I bought a long, long time ago has always served me very well indeed, and who could resist AIWA's Dynamic Super Linear Bass? The problem was, it was a chore taking a lot of music with me, the cds just taking up too much space. That's why I got an iPod, 20 gigs. And those things are nice. Very nice. But can it beat AIWA's DSL? We'll see. It was that good.

5 - Monday - 02:21
I managed to transfer just about my whole Dave Brubeck cd collection over to the iPod. That was a lot of work, seeing I've got quite a couple of albums by Mr Brubeck. Up next are all my other cds, or at least a selection. I think it's quite funny that all of that music can fit into such a small device. Makes finding the right song a nice challenge though. If those album titles would just scroll. What's this, a flaw in Apple's design? It's certainly inconvenient.

Take a look at this. I bet you've seen this screen before. Still, I was surprised to see this, because well, take another look at the URL. Yeah, Slashdot appears to be down, and that doesn't happen very often. For those of you who don't know what /. is, I suggest you go take a look, when it's running again, to find out what news really matters to nerds. My new neighbour is moving in by the way. With any luck, I'll have a picture of her on this site soon.

15 - Thursday - 03:41
Have you noticed the small amount of updates lately? I have. A lot has been happening though, it's not that there's nothing to write about. It's just that when I think about writing something, it's already so late that I just want to sleep. Anyhow, today I ran into Eric and Jason from Virginia at Amsterdam central station. I showed them to their hostel, as I had some time on my hands. And Wouter, if you're reading this, I've got a 'vet relaxte' cd for you. Ja.

17 - Saturday - 15:30
I can't remember for sure, but I think this is the first time I'm making an update from the beautiful city of Kerkrade. I've noticed the number of visits to my site have declined a lot lately. I guess I'm to blame, seeing updates have been few and far between. I've taken so many pictures though, as soon as I find some time, and bad weather, I'll post them on the site. Kerkrade is hot by the way. And to use but a popular Kerkrade term: adiee wa!

19 - Monday - 11:17
I'm having a party at my house on the 24th, a saturday. If you want to join in the festivities, send me a mail and you're welcome to drop by. I've got a couple of pictures from Kerkrade. Mart has turned into a kid already, things go well for the almost 2 year old. Limburg is always nice. I met up with Bart and we went to Germany. Ja. There was beer, there was barbecue, big bands, and even the occasional Rik. Some more Mart pictures, and call that a good weekend.

21 - Wednesday - 13:31
I don't mind playing a videogame from time to time. Last time, when Tim and Ad were here, we decided to hook up the ol' Nintendo 64 and enjoy a game of Perfect Dark, just like in the old days. It's unbelievable though, how well this game has aged. Even though it was released back in may 2000, the game is still as enjoyable as it was then. For games like Mario and Zelda also perhaps, this isn't a big feat, but for a first person shooter like PD, it sure is. Wow, Rare used to be so good.

24 - Saturday - 18:51
Well, preparations for my birthday party are all done. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the first guests to arrive. I sure hope they do, because doing all the dishes was a lot of work. There's plenty of beer, so should you be reading this on the 24th, why not drop by and enjoy? Furthermore, the weather, the weather! It's been so nice today, with the sun out and with a perfect temperature for taking a walk outside. I'm going back to my beer, please feel free to join me.

31 - Saturday - 13:23
Happy birthday Tim! My birthday also came and went, and the party was really a lot of fun. You know, it's a good sign that, when the beer is gone at a party, the people don't leave, but just grab stronger licquor. That's what happened here. Maybe the waterpipe had something to do with it too. I got some wonderful t-shirts, computer apparel, and more stuff you'll see soon. There's been so much happening, but it's not the weather to be talking about that on the net.
