what happened?

Right, so all of you are wondering what I'm always blabbing about on the index page in the first paragraph? Well have I got the solution for you both! Here, I will keep a little archive of what I've written in exactly that paragraph. For your reading pleasure, I will try to put everyhthing on here one month at a time. The oldest post of the month will be at the top. When you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back a few days and everything should become clear. Whenever I think it's worth it, I'll add a link to the more interesting things I mention. Try to expect not too many links.

It's always nice to receive pictures. With that in mind, let me show you a couple I've received over the last few days. These are from quite a while ago, while these are a bit more recent. I tell ya, talking about difficult things becomes a whole lot more difficilt when you're using a language you're not entirely familiar with. Still though, I think... oh wait. You're probably not that interested anyway. Yeah. Sorry.

Pictures can't do it justice, but it snowed something awful today, which caused quite a stir. It also managed to make Holland look very pretty indeed. After I destroyed a kid with a well-aimed snowball, I went to school. What a way to start a day, eh? Leiden sure looked great, but the real beauty was to be found in our capital, Amsterdam. Once again, these pictures can't do it justice. Just imagine things.

I know for a fact that a couple of people who read this site couldn't care less, but I think Tim has gone off and started a memorable quest. He's playing through all his games (223 to date) in alphabetical order, and he's nice enough to share his experiences with us through his first blog! (outside link) Head on over and check it out, if you're interested. He's tackling Dino Crisis right now. Witty and true, it makes for an enchanting read.

Jasper Bulk, the man behind many great websites, (OL) graduated today, and if that ain't a reason to throw a party, I don't know what is. A lot of people showed up, including his mom and dad, sister, girlfriend, friends, and just plain weird people. From Coozer, he got the latest smash hit, dedicated to him alone. Complete with release poster and limited edition first print, it made for a fine gift indeed. Dank je wel Bulk, het ga je goed in de maatschappij!

Recently, I had the opportunity playing on a grand piano which was built in the year 1873. It's still in perfect shape, and playing on it was a dream. I may be imagining things, but it seemed to me as if I was playing better than normal when I was going through a couple of classics, followed by polytonal and polyrhythmic Brubeck tunes. I can only ever dream of owning such a great piano. Send me money. Preferably lots of it. Thanks to Jet for introducing me to the pwner of that instrument.

Today, it was time again to visit the church, to liten to the St Matthew Passion, written by JS Bach, as you all know. The performance was exceptional, but what else to expect when Jasper's mom is in on of the two choirs? One thing has to be said though. Church benches are not, if you ask me or anyone who was there tonight, made for sitting on for longer stretches of time, say 5 minutes. I just got home, and now I'm starting to feel my legs again.

... and all I got was this lousy, cleaned up room. Can't a person even feel blue anymore? But we're gonna counter that! Today, Coozer is going to work on what will be this summer's smash hit. The weather's also helping a lot. There's something about the sun which makes people smile. And hey, it's not the end of the world anyway, is it? Furthermore, I live in Amster-fucking-dam, so there's more than enough alcohol and drugs around to make me feel 'better'.

25 - Friday - 01:18
Just as you think it's spring, the weather bends over, pushes hard and sprays its stinky innards onto you. Yes, I take rain and clouds very personally. But while the sun was out, we did manage to take some of it in. The Vondelpark in Amsterdam is always a good place to sit down and relax, and also in Leiden we were not disappointed. Thanks go out to my Japanese friends, for making this week seem better than it was. And the Dutch ones too.

29 - Tuesday - 04:16
Who would've thought that second Easter day would turn out to be so great? Jasper Bulk, the legendary, called me and asked if I would be interested to join him in Amsterdam, where he was having a drink with this great couple. Technically, they're not really a couple, since they're brother and sister. It's always good to talk with a Japanese flight attendant, and her brother also left a good impression. With a bit of luck, I'll see them again tomorrow.

30 - Wednesday - 01:27
Just go along with it. The king of all cosmos has destroyed all the stars in the sky, because he got a bit drunk last night. Now it's up to you, his son (5cm tall) to roll op all sorts of stuff here on earth, into a big clump, and throw it into the sky, thus creating new stars, and eventually even the moon. That's of course after you rolled up whole mountains, tsunamis, and cows, and the monster of Loch Ness. Katamari Damacy is strange, very strange, but utterly great.

31 - Thursday - 04:17
More on the great Katamari Damacy. The soundtrack. Oh! The soundtrack! It's so good. So very very good. And strange. It features a lot of Japanese artists, some of them quite well known, such as Matsuzaki Shigeru and Niinuma Kenji. What is it with games with simple concepts and great soundtracks, and great gameplay to boot? Phony, anyone? If anyone knows which game I'm talking about, mail me the answer and you'll get a great present. Tim, you're excluded. Sorry, but die.
