what happened?

Right, so all of you are wondering what I'm always blabbing about on the index page in the first paragraph? Well have I got the solution for you both! Here, I will keep a little archive of what I've written in exactly that paragraph. For your reading pleasure, I will try to put everyhthing on here one month at a time. The oldest post of the month will be at the top. When you have no idea what I'm talking about, go back a few days and everything should become clear. Whenever I think it's worth it, I'll add a link to the more interesting things I mention. Try to expect not too many links.

1 - Friday - 13:28 I grew up in what one would call the countryside. Now I live
in a city. A fairly big one, too. Then again, I also lived in Tokyo,
and in comparison to that metropole, even Amsterdam is
still in diapers. Diapers drenched in alcohol, surrounded by
the smell of legal drugs, and embraced by hookers. It seems
though, that I'll be leaving it all behind for one year at least.
I'll be trading it in for the countryside again, but not here in
the Netherlands. Yes, I'll be in Japan again, with a bit of luck.

19 - Tuesday - 14:15 Well, another television program has been shot, and fortunately
enough, I was there to do my part. Which was, as always,
interpreting and making sure the Japanese crew wouldn't get
themselves killed, or worse. It's Amsterdam you know. This
time around we were making a documentary about Dutch
design and liqueurs. Strangely enough they mixed pretty well,
and we got to go to Amsterdam's slickest joints, which was nice.
Special thanks to Marty, for the great flairing and contacts.

20 - Wednesday - 19:07 Man, I must be growing up or something. Not only will I turn
25 in a couple of days, I also had my very first official driving
lesson today. It went really well I guess, the girl even let me
drive throught the city of Haarlem, and she didn't use the
teacher's controls to correct my driving. Hah! I'll be cruising
around in Japan from september if I keep this up. I'll have my
theory exam very soon, next monday, on my birthday. Here's
to passing both theory and practical exams the first go. Should work out.

21 - Thursday - 11:28 Lots of updates all of a sudden, and that's mostly for myself,
so I can trace back what I was doing before going to Japan.
Today I have to be in Leiden for official business, and as of
tomorrow I'll be in driving school too. Saturday will be the practice
class for the theory exam, while the exam itself will be held on
monday, so I'll be studying hard for that. Now I just have to find
someone to occupy my place while I'm gone, and check with the
landlady if that'll be allright. There's also a bit more tv work to be done.

22 - Friday - 11:17 Driving school, work and study today. Almost seems like the
good balance I'd like to maintain, ie study, work and having
fun. I'm really looking forward to be driving around in a car today.
Hopefully my teacher will be in a good mood too. Well anyway,
it's a packed schedule for today, but I'm sure I'll manage to get
through it just fine. I saw Sin City by the way. Now that was
pretty good. Loved the Bruce Willis storyline, but the movie as
a whole was very very good, not perfect as others will tell you.

24 - Sunday - 21:29 I guess I could have expected work wasn't quite as finished
as I was thinking. Yeah, the guys and girls over in good ol'
Japan decided I wasn't quite done with all the research work
I've been doing for a television show about liqueurs and Dutch
Design. It should be broadcast in part from september on the
Japanese Asahi Beer homepage. This (ol) is where it should appear.
Also, should you be in Japan, keep tuning into SkyPerfecTV and
all the domestic ANA flights, where it'll be broadcast in full.
